Dai Bosatsu Zendo Sanmon
To commemorate Eido Roshi's 50th anniversary in the United States, and to express his gratitude to the Three Treasures, a Sanmon (gate complex) will be built at the entrance of Dai Bosatsu Zendo. In Buddhist temples, the traditional function of a Sanmon is to protect the Buddha-Dharma. A Sanmon was part of DBZ's original building plans, but was never actualized.

Mysteriously, the Dharma arranged for Stefan Heringa, to become our caretaker last year. Stefan trained in Japan as a Miya Daiku (temple carpenter) and is offering his exceptional talent and dedication to this project. He has completed extensive plans and will be in charge of building the gate from start to finish. The estimated completion date is the Fall of 2011.

The total cost will be approximately $100,000. Please join Eido Roshi in making this historical project a reality. You can donate on line through PayPal or by check. As always all contributions are fully tax-deductible.
